Training
This training provides an introduction to conducting institutional analysis with the Institutional Grammar (IG). Participants will receive an overview of institutional analysis and the Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) framework, while also gaining a comprehensive introduction to the Institutional Grammar 2.0. Training participants will be given access to a set of recorded lectures prepared by training instructors. They will also have the opportunity to participate in extended live, online training sessions, in which training instructors will cover select topics building on content covered in the recorded videos. Participants will have access to videos from January 8-28. The live, online sessions will be held from 8:00am to 11:00am Eastern January 29-31.
Training
This training provides an introduction to conducting institutional analysis with the Institutional Grammar (IG). Participants will receive an overview of how to conduct institutional analysis, use the Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) framework, and learn how text analytics and the analysis of policy design embeds within institutional analysis.
Course
The two-day class covers the intellectual foundations of institutional analysis more generally, and the Institutional Grammar (IG) more specifically. Following the conceptual introduction of the IG and its use in contemporary studies on the first day, on the second day is dedicated to the methodological design of IG studies, as well as discussing the operational encoding of institutional statements. It concludes with an exposition of approaches to analyze the collected institutional information. The Master Class is targeted at graduate students without prior exposure to the IG.
