Santiago Virgüez-Ruiz, Brenda Bushouse, Doug Rice, Charlie Schweik, University of Massachusetts Amherst; Seth Frey, University of California Davis
This is an active participation session in which we discuss the process of coding with the Institutional Grammar. We conducted a brief survey asking scholars about the main issues they have encountered when using the Institutional Grammar syntax (both 1.0 and 2.0 versions) to code and analyze institutional statements across different policy documents. We will share our survey results and then open a discussion about the common coding challenges people shared and engage in a generative discussion to find common solutions. The goal of this process is to build Institutional Grammar Open Data Standards.
