Tine De Moor

Dr. Tine De Moor is the Professor of Social Enterprises and Institutions for Collective Action at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands. Her research focuses on the historical and contemporary development of institutions for collective action (e.g., cooperatives and citizen collectives) and the role of institutions in addressing societal challenges. She examines how communities organize themselves to manage shared resources and provide services, and how these forms of governance contribute to sustainable and inclusive societies. She is also Principal Investigator at Institutions for Collective Action, a research group that collaborates with policymakers, practitioners, and international organizations to support citizen initiatives and promote collective action around the world.

Tine earned her PhD in History from Ghent University and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Antwerp. She has been president of the International Association for the Study of the Commons and has set up the peer-reviewed International Journal of the Commons. She also provides expertise to several national and international boards.

When Tine is not teaching or being a mom and partner to her family, you can find her performing in a Baroque opera or throwing pots! She is fondly known as “Professor Pots” to her friends.
